Questions and answers about the chatbot
The Graduate Center's AI-supported chatbot will be happy to answer your questions about doctoral studies at TU Dortmund University.
The chatbot is configured in such a way that it provides answers that are as factually accurate as possible, uses only predefined sources and minimizes hallucinations.
The answers are generated automatically and are for guidance only. For binding information, please contact the responsible office.
The chatbot is based on the TU Retrieval Bot (TURBO) and currently uses the open source model OpenAI GPT OSS 120B.
The data is processed exclusively on the infrastructure of TU Dortmund University and the servers of Open Source-KI.nrw (OSKI NRW) in Aachen and Cologne.
All questions are recorded anonymously and stored for 30 days.
This allows staff at the Graduate Center to check the quality of the answers and continuously develop the chatbot.
The chatbot uses three types of sources:
- TU Dortmund University websites
- Text files (e.g. Word and PDF documents)
- Obsidian notes (files of type .md)
The Graduate Center continuously optimizes the sources to guarantee the most accurate answers possible.
