Transfer & cooperation with non-academic partners is an increasingly relevant area of activity for universities. The effect of research on society and industry can be increased through structured transfer activity during one’s own research process. Furthermore, an increasing number of funding institutions demand a utilization erspective and a look at the larger societal challenges already in the grant proposal.

The workshop "How 2 identify transfer opportunites & design transfer projects?" will pick up those perspectives and introduce methodological knowledge for the successful planning of the utilization of research results in society and industry.

Different research fields and even approaches also demand different ways of transfer. For a choice of fitting ways the width of transfer opportunities will be presented and elaborated on with examples. Another topic of the workshop will the difference of successful transfer to science communication and the distribution of research results to the public.

Within the European funding schemes, but also in the German federal calls for proposals, the fundamental principles of mission-orientation have become increasingly important. The workshop will explain the features of a mission-oriented innovation strategy and answer the question, how measures for one’s own research can be derived from a larger focus on mission-orientation.

Finally, the workshop will present a framework allowing the planing of utilization with all relevant partners and which structures of transfer can be used for future research and development projects.

If you want to increase the effect of your research, systematically plan its utilization and include it in funding proposals, this workshop is the ideal starting point for this field.

We will work collaboratively on the online whiteboard Miro.
