This workshop is designed for Ph.D. candidates who are just months away from defending their dissertation. Ideally you have yet scheduled a date or submitted your dissertation.

Participants must bring a 5-7-minute presentation (with or without slides) that covers a part of your Ph.D. research and will be the topic of your defense.

In the workshop, all participants will give their presentation in front of their fellows. Each presentation will be followed by a discussion slot and an intense 360-degree feedback given by fellow participants and the trainer.

After the workshop, participants have a clear, realistic impression about their individual strengths, what can be changed and improved for their defense, and strategies they can take away for future talks.

• To identify and improve both verbal and non-verbal speaking strategies
• To adapt content to possible committee interests
• To strengthen exchanges with the audience
