Science mapping allows you to visually represent conceptual connections between publications and citation relationships between individuals, institutions, or countries, and use them for bibliometric literature reviews, trend research, or to find collaboration partners.

Bibliometric data forms networks through citations or content similarities, which can be useful in various areas of scientific work: Bibliometric literature reviews provide insights into publication volumes that are too large to be reviewed qualitatively. Collaboration and citation networks support the search for new collaborations and joint partners. The necessary data sources are available at TU Dortmund University, and the data can be visualized and analyzed using free software such as VOSViewer or R. The event provides a practical insight into various bibliometric visualizations.

  • Trainer: Marius Brommer and Ursula Helmkamp (Universitätsbibliothek TU Dortmund)
